A Brief History

A total of Thirteen Years experience in the repair of Magneto's.

Previously employed by Europe's largest magneto repairers I started initially in the machine shop manufacturing components and after serving an apprenticeship progressed through the workshop until finally leading their workshop repair team for 3 years.This has given me a unique knowledge of a wide range of magneto's and their components.

I have now branched out on my own to offer the Veteran and Vintage vehicle owner access to a specialist engineer able to undertake a wide variety of repairs to all makes and models of magneto.

Offering a comprehensive service for both Magneto and Trembler Coil repair I can undertake work for any engine fitted with mag ignition and count both National and International Motor Museums together with Professional Restoration Firms amongst my customers.

Coils are the heart of any early form of ignition. Be it Magneto or Trembler. Therefore extensive research over many years has been carried out to produce the type of windings I fit today. Using the latest materials available in wire, varnish, interleaving material and a modern vacuum impregnation system the coils are rigorously tested at every stage of the rewinding process to ensure a quality product rewound to the manufacturers original specification whenever possible.

Spare parts availability (or lack of) is an ever increasing problem. More and more parts are having to be remanufactured either in small batches or even one - off's on occasion. If I am unable to supply a part you require, either new old stock or second hand, it may be possible to make it from a drawing or pattern. However small scale manufacturing is expensive.

The pictures shown are examples of work I have undertaken for customers both here in the U.K and throughout the world for a wide variety of vehicles. Some of them unique in being the sole one of it's kind.

I also carry out repairs to a wide range of Magneto's fitted to ex-military vehicles and equipment of both Foreign and U.K origins.
